Financial Accounts Technician (AM)

Ensures termination of collection action and close-put of debts are in accordance with policies, etc. Interprets considerable system, administrative, and financial data to identify problems and submit recommendation to current procedures and policies and implements solutions. Evaluates documentation, debtor payment history, debtor's situation, timeliness of filing and,and makes recommendation to approve/deny request. Reconciles, advises and return all discrepancies to Billing Department. Obtains, reviews and analyzes documentation, State and Federal Statues, and other information to determine if collection should be pursued through a third party. Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. GS-07 Time-In-Grade Requirement:

GS-06 Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Corresponds with internal and external agency customers, beneficiaries, vendors, insurance companies, legal representatives, and General Counsel by mail, email, telephone or facsimile. Maintains account receivable supporting documentation. Reviews and analyzes case information, remittance statements from the third party payer or and others, and the accounts receivable record relating to the debt. Validates and monitor accounts receivable transactions. Utilizes systems to review claims. GS-07 Specialized
Experience:

Performs required follow-up action to ensure proper debt collections procedures are adhered to, follow up phone calls and letters and proper due process rights. Reviews and analyzes case information, remittance statements from the third party payer or and others, and the accounts receivable record relating to the debt. Validates and monitor accounts receivable transactions. Utilizes systems to review claims. Maintains data pertaining to accounts receivable. Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting at a desk, working with computers daily. Some work may require walking in offices and similar areas for meetings. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. The work does not require any special physical effort. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
