The position is located within the CPAC, organizationally aligned under the Chief Financial Officer, Veteran Service Department, The CPAC is a regionally consolidated business entity established to increase revenue with VHA using an Industry best model built on regional management of key aspects of the revenue cycle, process standardization, accountability and economies of scale for several Veterans Integrated Service Networks. Your work duties and responsibility include:
Performs review of First Party debt directly related with the Debt Management Program, and Treasury Offset
Program,prior to actual impact of payment offsets;
Prepares public vouchers for processing, refund, pre-payment, claims matching, rated eligibility, reports;
Provides patient education and assistance via telephone or written correspondence concerning one or more of
the programs administered in order to assist and understand program requirements;
Prepares written documents such as correspondence memoranda , reports, pamphlets and etcetera of a routine
nature;
Prepares data for processing and provide clerical and technical support to Consolidated Patient Accounts Center
(CPAC) operations.
Tour of Duty:Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 -p.m.

TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
GS-06:Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level in the federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to this Program Support Assistant (OA) position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: performs review of First Party debt directly related with the Debt Management Program, and Treasury Offset Program,prior to actual impact of payment offsets; prepares public vouchers for processing, refund, pre-payment, claims matching, rated eligibility, reports; provides patient education and assistance via telephone or written correspondence concerning one or more of the programs administered in order to assist and understand program requirements; prepares written documents such as correspondence memoranda , reports, pamphlets and etcetera of a routine nature; prepares data for processing and provide clerical and technical support to Consolidated Patient Accounts Center (CPAC) operations.

Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to healthcare eligibility, means and co-pay testing and billing.
Skill in the use of computerized programs and other automated applications.
